Our award-winning audience measurement system just got even better. We are ecstatic to announce the launch of Canadian SVOD viewing data on our state-of-the-art analytics platform SoDA.
Using our SoDA platform, you can now see Netflix, Amazon and Disney+ viewing figures for Canada, dating back to 2021. Enabling you to leverage our data analytics tool to monitor and evaluate the performance of content in this region.
Canada appears to be one of the regions that streamers test new strategies in making this data particularly key to viewing insights. For example Netflix cracked down on password sharing and removal of their basic plan from Canada, before rolling this out to other territories.
The SVOD industry moves with such speed, it is vital we lead the way and showcase global data to provide our clients with the best possible service. We are proud of the many territories we are able to offer to our clients. Now, our clients to have the flexibility to monitor how content is performing in Canada.
To mark the release of Canadian data on SoDA we have compiled a list of the top performing titles measured by reach in the month of July 2023.
It is fascinating to see the comparison of this to our UK top 10 list from the same month (July 2023). As you can see from the table below, there are similarities. However, what is facinating is being able to understand what appeals to audiences in different territories.
We can also now delve deeper into our data to compare different metrics. For example, building on the top 10 titles in Canada, we can break this down into the different streaming platforms, as in the below table for Disney+.
We can also look at the genre breakdown, create deep-dive program reports for the Canadian market standalone or look at it in comparison to other territories.
In the simple example below, we look at the platform split of Canada versus UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain (UKFIGS). This all helps to build an interesting picture of the streaming industry in Canada and globally.
